About
The SPCA of Brevard is a private, nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to protecting and providing a voice for homeless animals across Brevard County. Since opening our doors in 1979, we have grown into the largest private no-kill animal rescue in the county, placing more than 2,600 animals into loving homes each year and providing lifesaving services to pets and families alike. Our adoption center features free-roaming cat rooms and compassionate staff and volunteers committed to finding the right match for every animal.
We’re deeply engaged with local government and community partners to expand access to essential resources and strengthen animal welfare throughout the Space Coast. This includes programs like community microchip scanner stations deployed in partnership with city and county agencies to help reunite lost pets with their families quickly and safely. Through ongoing collaboration with local municipalities, law enforcement, fire departments, and fellow nonprofits, we work to reduce shelter intake, promote public education, and support policies that benefit people and pets alike.
In addition to our adoption and care services, the SPCA of Brevard operates two community-focused thrift stores whose proceeds directly fund our lifesaving work. The SPCA Thrift Store & Boutique Melbourne on Apollo Boulevard and a sister location on South Washington Avenue in Titusville offer quality donated goods, free pickup service for donations, and a welcoming place for the community to support our mission through everyday shopping. All funds raised at these stores help cover the costs of animal care, medical services, community programs, and low-cost spay and neuter services across Brevard County.
Through our partnership with the Melbourne Regional Chamber, The SPCA of Brevard also partners with local businesses through corporate giving and sponsorship programs, offering companies meaningful ways to support animal welfare while engaging employees and customers. From cause-marketing campaigns to workplace giving, these partnerships create a powerful impact for animals and the community we share.
