At Tutor Doctor we are always looking to expand our tutor roster by hiring GREAT tutors. We believe that many people possess the gift of teaching that may not necessarily be formal educators (although we love our educators too!). Tutoring is an opportunity for one person - young or old - to stand with another person and help them to achieve success. If you know of anyone that has a technical expertise in an area, and the gift of teaching, coaching, or mentoring, please encourage them to apply to Tutor Doctor as a potential tutor. Join The Tutor Doctor Central Brevard Team today! Being a Tutor Doctor tutor is more than just work. When you join our family, you are connecting with something bigger. We are looking for passionate, driven, knowledgeable people to partner with us and put our students on the road to success.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced tutor and/or teacher who is able to adapt to different learning styles and create a customized learning plan for their student. We want our tutors to have the integrity and knowledge to push students to excel beyond expectations.

Responsibilities Include:

Travelling to a student’s home for in-person tutoring and/or conducting live virtual sessions
Scheduling tutoring sessions with the student and their family
Establishing academic goals with the student
Creating and implementing lesson plans for the student
Documenting and communicating the student’s progress
Preparing session reports for the student’s family and our office
Assisting students with executive, organizational, and study skills if needed

Minimum Qualifications:

MUST be physically located in or near Brevard County (including: Melbourne, Suntree, Viera, Rockledge, Cocoa, Palm Bay, Merritt Island, Cape Canaveral, Patrick AFB, Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach, Indialantic, Melbourne Beach)
Must be 18 years of age or older
Successful completion of 2 years of college or university (60 credit hours) preferred
A bachelor degree, graduate degree, or Florida teaching certificate are a plus but not a requirement
Access to reliable transportation with a current license and vehicle insurance
Access to and proficiency using the internet and a smart phone and/or computer
Ability to produce or undergo a current criminal background check
Strong organizational and excellent communication skills
Experience tutoring in the areas of reading and math (all grades), and high school sciences (preferred)
Demonstrated subject expertise in the subjects you will be tutoring
A desire to help others and to change the trajectory of our students’ lives
